Border Guard Bangladesh(BGB) will take on Bangladesh Police Handball team in the men’s section final while Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation meet Bangladesh Ansar in women’s section final of the MA Hamid Independence Day Handball scheduled to be held tomorrow.

Both the finals will be held at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the capital. Country’s famed international chess woman master Rani Hamid, who is the wife of M A Hamid, founder president of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF), will be the chief guest in the final and distribute the prizes.

The BHF after almost three decades gives due honour to Lt Col M A Hamid, who was also the vice-chairman of National Sports Council. In fact he was the architect behind spreading the game all over the country in a little time. Now the incumbent president Nurul Fazal Bulbul, who showed keen interest to develop the game with sponsoring the game  by his own bank Exim Bank Limited, all on a sudden and now a days he hardly comes to the office or take any initiative to encourage the players to carry forward the game.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Police Handball team beat Quantum Foundation by 18-12 goals in the women’s section match while Quantum Foundation defeated Bangladesh Ansar by 34-32 goals in the day’s men’s section match.
