Habib-R-Rahman scholarship launched at IU

The authorities of Bangla department of Islamic University (IU) have launched Habib-r-Rahman Scholarship for the Bangla department students. The scholarship would be given to the department first and second position students in honours level, sources at IU Bangla department said on Wednesday. IU vice-chancellor Professor Rashid Askari launched the scholarship as chief guest at Bangla Mancha while Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha was present as the special guest with Bangla department chairman Professor Saidur Rahman in the chair. The Bangla department former Professor M Habibur Rahman decided to launch the scholarship after his name for encouraging the students of the department for better results.
Seminar on urinary incontinence held

A dissemination seminar on ‘Managing Urinary Incontinence in elderly Village Women in Rural Bangladesh: a Cluster Randomized Trial of a Community Exercise-based Intervention’ was held at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday, says a press release. It was jointly organised by Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) and University of Alberta, Edmonton , Canada. Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, Executive President, Power and Participation Research Centre (PPRC) was the chief guest. Professor Nicola Cherry MD, Division of Preventive Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, and Professor Adrian Wagg, Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada presented research findings in the seminar. The results of 3577 elderly women, whose aged 60-75 years identified, 1003 were eligible: 298 exercise and 281 education participants consented and were included in the trial from August 2015-July 2018. A K M Rezaul Haque, Senior Director, Health, Gk, Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury, one of the founders of Gonoshasthaya Kendra, Prof Sayeba Akhter, Past president, Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of Bangladesh, Dr Kaosar Afsana Professor of BRAC University, Dr Laila Parvin Banu, Vice-Chancellor (Current), Gono Bishwabidyalay, took part at the discussant.
