KHULNA: Speakers at a day long workshop here on Saturday stressed the need for ensuring good and sound health of the mothers and children to build a healthy nation, reports BSS. They observed that in order to keep their bodies physically fit and well, all of the mothers and the children of the country will have to be brought under healthcare services programmes of the government as well as the non government organisations and awareness has to becreated among them about primary healthcare including nutrition.’
The speakers were addressing workshop styled “ Feeding exercise of new born babies and children and mothers nutrition”, held at the VIP Lounge of Khulna Press Club with Khulna Press Club President Mokbul Hossain Mintu in the chair. Organised by Bangladesh Breast Feeding Foundation assistance with Public Health Nutrition Services (PHNS) and Public Health Nutrition Organisation(PHNO), Khulna deputy commissioner Mostofa Kamal addressed as chief guest. The workshop attended, among others, by Khulna unit BMA president Dr Sheikh Baharul Alam, senior information officer of PID in Khulna region Zinat Ara Ahmed, project officer of Bangladesh Breast Feeding Foundation Md. Sakib, Monitoring Officer Palash Kumar Mojumder, Office Executive Enamul Hassan and general secretary of Khulna Press Club Subir Roy.
