A group of journalists under the banner of ‘News Editors Council (NEC)’ formed a human chain in the city yesterday protested the attack on their fellows. It was presided over by president of the NEC Mehedi Hasan and addressed among others by senior journalist Murad Ahmed, Akhta Faruk Shaheen, ASM Zakir Hosen, Gopal Sharkar, Bidhan Sarkar.  Speakers of the programme urged the authorities concerned to arrest the person responsible in the attack on their fellows.

Mentionable that KM Sabuj, district correspondent of Daily Jugantar in Jhalakathi came under attack by a group of drug traders on Saturday noon near Jhalakathi Press Club. At the same time Nazirpur upazila chairman and president of Nazirpur upazila BNP Md. Nazrul Islam with his gang attacked on journalist H M Lahel Mahmud at Nazirpur Sadar area for publishing news against corruption.  

Both the journalist filed case in local police stations.
