Swanon, the well known recitation organisation, celebrated their 30th founding anniversary. The celebrations took place on Friday at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) through a programme, with the title ‘Nibhrite Noy Kolahole’. Swanon, along with a group of 11 recitation organisations performed and the programme featured felicitations from guests as well as tributes. The celebrations saw lighted lamps and balloons in the sky and cultural personalities such as Jayanta Chattapadhyay , Ataur Rahman, Syed Abdul Hadi , Bhaswar Bandopadhyay, Ahakamullah and Rafiqul Islam were involved in celebrations along with many more personalities.
Ashraful Alam, veteran recitation artiste was bestowed with a lifetime achievement award. He received a bouquet of flowers, a handmade quilt and a cheque for Tk 50,000. He was given the award by Dr Ranesh Chakraborty, president of Swanon, Nazmul Ahsan, general secretary of the organization, and noted recitation artiste Rupa Chakraborty
Ashraful Alam expressed his gratitude towards Swanon and mentioned that the award will be an added inspiration to continue his journey as a recitation artiste. Later on, the respective productions were presented by the recitation troupes.
Swanon presented ‘Nibhrite Noy Kolahole’ that featured selected parts of 29 poems of various poets focusing on innumerable issues. Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Sarat Tomay Arun Aloy Anjali’, Kazi Nazrul Islam’s ‘Probortoker Ghurchakay’, Syed Shamsul Haque’s ‘Nurul Diner Sarajibon’, and Ashim Saha’s ‘Udbhastu’ were also included.
A collection of poems titled ‘Ami Thik Achi’ were presented by the artistes of Swarasruti. Kazi Nazrul Islam’s poem ‘Agamani’ was presented by Muktadhara Abritti Charcha Kendra. A production titled ‘Mrittur Jadughar’ by Sangbritta highlighted hazards, risks and accidents associated with the apparel industry
A production named ‘Sey Sriti Sey Itihaas’ was presented by Muktadhara Sangskritik Kendra and then a collection of poems by Nazrul, including ‘Bidrohi’ and ‘Kamal Pasha’ was presented by Katha Abritti Charcha Kendra. l
