Writ against forming CU VC panel rejected
A six years old child rescued from city’s EPZ area soon after his 14 hours of abduction on Saturday. The child named Faisal abducted from city’s Bakalia area on Saturday 7:30 am and rescued at around 10pm from city’s EPZ area. Police also caught the abductor. The arrestee was identified as Nasima Akhter, 30, wife of Mohammad Yousuf, a resident of Shafi Colony of Rajakhali under Bakalia police station. When contacted Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge (OC), Bakalia police station told The Independent “On Saturday morning an apparel worker Kohinur Akhter went to her work place at Baizid Bostami leaving her son at home. At around 7:30 am in the morning her son was abducted by Nasima Akhter.” “When the incident came into light, Kohinur’s husband Md Omar Faruk, a resident of Mahfuz Colony of Bakalia, informed the incident to his wife and contacted with the Nasima. However, Nasima informed that she abducted the child for realising her owing money. Nasima claimed that he would not return the Faisal without money,” said Bakalia police sources. Despite failing to settle down the issue, Khoinur lodge an abduction case accusing Nasim Begum on Saturday. The Bakalia police conducted a drive and rescued the child and red-handed the Nasima. Police sources said Khoinur took loan Tk10, 000 from Nasima in 2012 on the basis of interest. Khoinur paid Nasima only Tk 4,000, so, she was creating pressure on Khoinur to realise her rest of the money.
