Man killed by ‘younger brother’

A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his younger brother during an altercation between them over a trifling matter at Rabeya Lane under Kowtali police station of Chittagong yesterday. The deceased was identified as Sohel Chowdhury, 35, son of Siraj-ud-Daulah Chowdhury, a local resident of Rabeya lane of the city. Local and police sources said an altercation took place between two brothers as Sohel Chowdhury scolded his younger brother Mobashsher Chowdhury alias Raihan, a second year student of HSC of Kazem Ali High School, for study and not going college regularly at around 9am. Raihan was being enraged and stabbed Sohel indiscriminately, leaving him dead in his room.
After the incident Raihan fled from the scene and police seized two knives used for murder and a Tab from the spot, said Jashim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kowtali police station. Family members of the deceased said that Raihan always lives in a room lonely, he used to remain closed the door of his room. On Saturday morning his elder brother Sohel reprimanded for his behavior, for this reason Raihan was enraged on Sohel. While in the morning Sohel went to call Raihan for going to college, enraged Raihan indiscriminately stabbed him. Rowsan Ara, mother of Sohel said that Sohel was her eldest son, who left a three years old girl.  He was a diploma engineer and was working with a private organisation.
