Bangladesh Women’s Under-16 national team is going to Myanmar with a high hope to make room in the AFC U-16 final round. The team is expected to leave for Yangon on Saturday.
Bangladesh who were drawn in the tough Group (B) comprised with the hosts Myanmar, China, Thailand and Philippines will begin their campaign with taking on Philippines on February 27.
Regarding the preparation and the target of the team, head coach Golam Rabbani Choton, technical and strategy director of Bangladesh Football Federation Paul Smally and Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, chairman of the women’s wing of BFF expressed their opinion in a press conference at the BFF Bhaban yesterday.
Choton, who has been working as the head coach of the Bangladesh women’s national sides for a long time along with Paul Smally said that his side is well prepared for the competition, as they are under progression for a long time. “In fact the girls are in the camp from January when they took part in a four nation tournament in Hong Kong, then played in the Tajikistan, in fact they played some tough international competition last year including the Olympic qualifying round at the end of last year in Myanmar.”
