Saraswati Puja celebrated

Saraswati Puja, worshiping the goddess of knowledge, wisdom and culture and one of the main religious festivals of the Hindu community, was celebrated across the country yesterday amid much enthusiasm, festivity and religious fervour. In the capital, Saraswati puja was arranged at different places, including Jagannath Hall on the Dhaka University campus and Ramkrishna Mission. Home Minster Asaduzzaman Khan visited puja mandaps at Rajdhani High School and Bangladesh Kirishibid Institute at Khamarbai in the city. Speaking on the occasion, Home Minster Asaduzzaman Khan said that the people of Bangladesh believe in non-communal spirit and celebrate all festivals of the people of all religions.
Meanwhile, like previous years, Jagannath University central Puja Udjapan Committee organised Saraswati Puja on the campus. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman visited different Puja Mandaps on the campus and exchanged greetings with teachers and students.

Besides, in the capital, Saraswati puja was also arranged at different places, including Siddheswari temple, Shakhari Bazar, Tanti Bazar, Banani, Dhaka College, Eden Girls College, BUET, Ramna Kali Mandir.
