The players’ draft for the upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL) of the 2018-2019 season has deferred for some days owing to the requests of the participating premier clubs.
The day-long players’ draft for the prestigious and traditional cricket league was scheduled to take place at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital city on February 12.
The new date for the players’ draft is yet to announce by Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM), the apex body of the country’s domestic cricket club.
But it is learnt from the CCDM insiders that the new date will soon be announced within today or tomorrow.
The league is all set to roll onto the ground on February 25.
The CCDM meanwhile informed the clubs to submit their list of retention players for the league. Along with that, they also directed the clubs to pay the fifty percent of the payment of the retention players. This year each team can retain three players.
The country’s apex body of the domestic cricket clubs newly inducted a rule, under which a club could exchange three players on the basis of mutual of understanding (MoU). Last year a club could have exchanged two players with another club.
