The national Vitamin 'A' plus campaign (Second round)-2019 was held in the city yesterday, aiming to feed vitamin A plus capsules to all children aged between six and 59 months.

Chief executive officer of BCC Md Khairul Hasan inaugurated the programme at Jamir Uddinn Primary School centre of the city yesterday morning.

The Barisal health department on Saturday operated extensive drives to feed vitamin A capsule to 42,650 children in the district and 42 thousands children in the City Corporation area aged 0-59 months.

Dr Monoar hosen, district civil surgeon Barishal, and Dr Matiur Rahman, chief health officer of Barishal City Corporation, said they achieved 98 per cent success in the programme.
