The zonal managers of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) were urged to maintain farmers-friendly banking for boosting grassroots economy.
Speakers viewed this while addressing a daylong half-yearly performance evaluation meeting of all the zonal managers and others concerned at Training Institute of the bank Thursday.
They also urged them to speed up the farmers-level lending activities for boosting agricultural production to meet up the national food demand.
To this end, all the credit programmes of the bank should be need-oriented and emphasis should be given on reaching banking services to the farmers’ doorsteps.
Chairman of RAKUB board of directors Nazrul Islam and its Director Professor Rustam Ali Ahmed addressed the conference as chief and special guests respectively with Managing Director Kazi Alamgir in the chair.
The senior bankers laid stress on bringing all the existing potential sectors and sub-sectors of agriculture and its processing under qualitative and quantitative financing for making the country’s northwest region economically vibrant.
