Rangpur Riders’ opening batsman Chris Gayle tipped the match against Dhaka Dynamites a big game for each other, stating that the team who could show off themselves and take the momentum in favour of them will be victorious.
Gayle also said that both teams have big names’ players but the in-field performance will be counted at the end of the day and try to play in combined efforts against Dynamites.
“You know it’s a big game and it has big players but it doesn’t be counted. You know what happened last night,” said Chris Gayle.
“You know, we build in slowly… This time it’s well. It just remains very positive. It’ll come back each and everyone actually get the job as well,” Gayle told media while he along with coach Tom Moody and Benny Howell was attending to a programme, titled ‘Say No to Drugs’ at the Maple Leaf International School in the capital city yesterday.
“It’s not a one man team. We will play in collective unity. That’s important actually to win championship. We all look what happen actually tomorrow,” he added.
When asked about his personal performance, Gayle said that it does not go well.
Citing his last year performance in the final against Dhaka Dynamites, he said that he made the highest runs in the final and triumphed the team.
“It’s still look good--(smiling all),” he said.
“From my point of view, It doesn’t go well. Last year, you know I had scored highest runs. Distinguished is all always happening ups and downs. It’s just up to going as an experienced player when it is actually matter most,” he also said.
“That we actually come out the great and be successful,” he added.
Riders head coach Tom Moody on the
other hand said that they have to play better brand of cricket to beat Dynamites in the Qualifier-2.
“We needed to play best cricket tomorrow. We feel well that we needed to play well. We lost the match yesterday. So, we needed to do well in that match,” he said.
“We are looking forward to the opportunity tomorrow against Dhaka. They are good side, we all know that. But we are determined we needed a lot. Firstly, we have a long way to go to the final and have a success,” he added.
