MD Jahurul Haque has been made chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommuni-cation Regulatory Commi-ssion (BTRC) for two years. The order will be effective immediately said a circular issued by the Public Administration Ministry on Wednesday.

He had also been performing duties as acting chairman since May 7 last year when the tenure of his predecessor, Shahjahan Mahmood, had ended. A former sessions judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, Haque will take on his new office till December 20, 2020, according to a gazette notification
