Three killed in road crashes

Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Jessore and Rangpur districts. In Jessore, two motorcycle riders were killed in a road accident at Aladipur village under Bagarpara upazila in the district yesterday. The deceased were identified as Rafiq, 30, and Khair Biswas, 28. Officer-in-Charge of Bagarpara police station Kayum Sardar said the accident occurred when their motorcycle suddenly lost control over its steering and dashed a roadside tree while they were going to Barra village under Bagarpara upazila from Jessore Sadar yesterday morning. Following the accident, Khair Biswas died on the spot and Rafiq succumbed to his injuries at Jessore General Hospital. BSS from Rangpur adds: A night coach passenger was killed and six others were injured in a road accident at Barodorga point on Rangpur-Dhaka highway under Pirganj upazila here yesterday morning, police sources said. The deceased has been identified as Nurun Nabi, 33, of Kamarpara area in Rangpur city. The accident occurred when a Rangpur bound night coach �Hanif Enterprise� from Dhaka fell down into the ditch after hitting a roadside tree as the sleepy driver lost control over the steering at 4-30 am. Being informed, police rushed to the spot, rescued the body and the injured persons with the help of the local people and sent them to Pirganj Upazila Heath Complex. In-charge of Barodorga Highway Police Camp Sergeant Nazmul Haque Mandal said that a case has been field in this connection with Pirganj police station.
