Life skill-based education vital for adolescents

Rangpur: Speakers at the concluding ceremony of a three-day training course yesterday said the importance of Life Skill Based Education (LSBE) for the adolescents is vital in taking decisions by them under adverse situations. Fulabri Area Development Programme of the World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) organised the training course at its conference room in Fulabri upazila town of Dinajpur for 24 pair educators of Kazihal, Eluari, Betdighee and Aladipur unions of the upazila. With Programme Officer of Fulabri Area Development Programme of WVB Pallabi Mumu in the chair, its acting area manager Badal Sangma addressed the concluding ceremony as the chief guest yesterday afternoon, reports BSS. The participating 24 pair educators, who are secondary level students of different schools, will now train up 240 of their male and female friends in their localities on LSBE also to make them efficient in taking decisions under adverse situations. Narrating importance of LSBE, the speaker said such education assists the children and adolescents in becoming realistic and taking decisions at tougher moments in life amid adverse situations also to inspire the others in following their footsteps. They put emphasis on making LSBE in the secondary schools effective to educate the adolescents on health, hygiene, sanitation, reproductive health, social values, behaviour, building moral character  for becoming better citizens.
