Unidentified criminals stabbed to death a ward councillor of Gopalpur municipality in Natore yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Zamirul Islam, councillor of Ward No 3 of the municipality in Lalpur upazila.

Nazrul Islam Jewel, officer-in-charge of Lalpur Police Station, said that some unidentified miscreants stabbed Zamirul in front of his residence at Biropara in the municipality when he was returning to his house around 1:30 pm, leaving him severely injured. The injured was taken to Lalpur Upazila Health Complex where doctor declared him dead.

He was rushed to Lalpur Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
