Juba League leader shot
Barguna: A local leader of Juba League was shot and wounded by some criminals at Piyaratala in the district town on Monday night., reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Habibur Rahman Habi, joint convener of the district unit of Juba League.
Officer-in charge of Kustia Model police station Biplob Kumar Nath said a gang of armed criminals opened fire at Habi while he was entering his father-in-law’s house in the area around 10pm, leaving him critically injured.
After hearing the gunshots, locals rushed in and caught Tuhin when he tried to flee the spot after firing, the OC added. Later, Habi was sent to Kushtia General Hospital.

Arms, ammo seized

Police recovered arms, ammunition, including bomb-making materials, on Monday night from a brick field at village Ashrafpur in Meherpur Sadar upazila.
Ahsan Habib, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said police raided the brick field where robbers were preparing to commit robbery and seized one foreign pistol, four rounds of bullet, two magazines, one shooter gun and a large quantity of bomb-making materials, including gunpowder, from the spot.

Juba Dal leader  arrested

Detective Branch (DB) police in Bogra arrested a Juba Dal leader, youth wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), yesterday from Malotinagour High School in connection with 15 cases of vandalism and sabotage and arson attack.
The arrestee is Sipar-Al-Baktiar, 40, president of the district unit Juba Dal and no 11 word councilor of Bogra Municipality and inhabitant of Malotinagour area in the town. Md Amirul Islam, in-charge of Bogra DB police, said a team of DB police conducted a drive in Malotinagour area after they came to know that an anti-government meeting was going on at Malotinagour High School.
 The police arrested the Juba Dal leader from the spot.
