The Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts yesterday recommending settling of audit objections in the annual audit reports of the comptroller and auditor general (CAG) on some of the accounts under the ministry for LGRD and cooperatives, reports BSS. The committee made the recommendation after reviewing audit objections on the accounts of Dhaka city water-logging mitigation project of fiscal
2001-2006 and the accounts of office of Dhaka WASA of fiscal 2001-02, 2002-03 and 2003-04 under the local government division.
The recommendation was made at the 36th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its Chairman Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir presiding, said an official release.
Committee members M Abdus Shahid, Mohammad Amanullah, M Afsarul Amin, M. Shamsul Haq Tuku, Mainuddin Khan Badal, AKM Maidul Islam and Begum Wasika Ayesha Khan attended the meeting.
The committee recommended stopping irregularities in giving water supply connections and meter reading.
CAG Masud Ahmed and senior officials concerned were present at the meeting.
