Security measures taken for Durga Puja

KHULNA: Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) and Khulna District Police authorities separately have taken adequate security measures for ensuing Durga Puja, a largest religious festival of the Hindu Community, to be start on October 22, reports BSS.
While talking to Khulna Police Super Md. Habibur Rahman on Tuesday, told BSS, a total of 3000 police including village police and Ansar have already been deployed in the first week of this month at all 880 puja mandaps in the district.
"We have taken early preparation in the wake of recent killings of two foreigners in the country," he said.
Additional Police Super of Detective Branch CA Halim told BSS, both plain clothes and uniformed police are patrolling the puja mandaps areas in every day.
Police will also patrol round the clock before one week of Durga Puja.
Preparations for making idols are in full swing at all 880 puja mandaps in nine upazilas of the district, he said adding that village police are now patrolling at the mandaps round the clock.
Meanwhile, at least 2000 police and ansars will deployed before a week of Durga puja at all 115 puja mandaps in the city, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of KMP Moniruzzaman Mithu told BSS yesterday.
Detective Branch of Police have already patrolling the mandaps in different areas of the district, he said.
