Japanese professor meets DU VC

Professor Dr Yasushi Makihara of Osaka University, Japan called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman recently at his residential office of the university.

Dr Md Atiqur Rahman Ahad was present on the occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues including the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programmes between the University of Dhaka and the Osaka University of Japan.
They stressed the need for sharing knowledge and experience among the teachers and students of these two universities to strengthen academic and research activities.

SUST reopens after winter vacation

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) reopened yesterday after 14-day vacation for winter and Christmas.
The academic activities of the university resumed in the morning, said a press release signed by deputy-registrar Yunus Ali.
