Anamul vows to make room in World Cup squad

Sabbir Rahman Rumman, the promising all-rounder of Bangladesh, sees the upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as a big platform for him to stage a comeback in the national team.

Rumman, who was slapped a six-month suspension from international cricket due to his unsporting and indisciplinary issues by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), will be eligible for the international cricket after February.

Sabbir Rahman himself admits the matter and said that he knows how important BPL for him to make a return in the national fold and will try his best to perform well so that he could be reappeared in the fold again.

“National team is open for all,” said Sabbir Rahman Rumman.

“BPL is very big stage for me. It’s now the biggest tournament in my life. Inshaallah, I will attempt to play my usual game,” Rumman told media.

“And World Cup is far away. So, we are focusing on BPL for the nonce,” he added.

Still five months left for the next ICC World Cup-England and Wales-2019. So, Sabbir has enough time in hand to prove himself as a much-needed player for the Tigers’ extended World Cup squad.

“There will be good chance for me if I could perform well in BPL,” he said.

“I will try to do something better in BPL. Then, I think of my chance in the World Cup,” he also said.

Sabbir confessed his wrongdoings and said that he really passed worse days in 2018 and forget all by doing better in days to come.

“I promised to move forward. I want to forget what I have done in 2018,” he said with regret.

He differs with media question, and said, “I don’t think any impact has been fallen on my performance. Performance will not come always. There is no guaranty if you wish to hit hundred. I’m trying to keep my preparation right.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Anamul Haque Bijoy, who dropped from the team due to his shoddy performance, echoed the same sentiment and said that he will try to perform as much as possible for him to make a comeback in the national fold.

“To be honest, when I returned to national team with West Indies series and when I could not do well in the matches, from then, each match for me as a preparation for the world Cup,” Anamul Haque Bijoy.

“Since then, I played National Cricket League (NCL) and Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL). I will play matches in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Actually I always try to make ready for me. Each match is very important for me,” Anamul also said.

Bijoy said that he dreams to play in the 2019 ICC World Cup after being sidelined from Down Under World Cup-2015 with injury.

“I, of course, want to play World Cup. I always dream to play there. In 2015, I was out of the field due to injury and later returned home from Down Under. Since then, I dream to play World Cup-2019,” he noted.

“I try heart and soul in every match, even in my net and gym sessions, I will play in World Cup 2019. I will try to perform as much as possible for me and prepared me for the World Cup,” he said.
