Former Bangladesh Bank governor and eminent Rabindra researcher Dr Atiur Rahman was honoured with the lifetime achievement award at the ‘Igloo Channel i Rabindra Mela 2018’. The event was organised to mark the 157th birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Poet Rabindranath Tagore on May 8.

Noted thespian Ataur Rahman, managing director of Channel i Faridur Reza Sagor, director and head of news of Channel i Shykh Seraj and chief executive officer of Igloo (the sponsor company of the event) GM Kamrul Hasan handed over a crest, cheque worth 50 thousand taka and uttorio (celebratory scarf) to Atiur Rahman at the 13th edition of Rabindra Mela on the premises of Channel i in the capital.

After the inauguration ceremony, the album covers of noted Rabindra Sangeet singer Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya (Bone Emon Phul Phutehhe), Shimul Dey (Sagor Parer Sur) and young singer Konal (video art of Rabindra Sangeet—Jodi Tor Daak Shune Keu Na Ase) were unveiled at the programme.
