Two students of Chittagong University sustained injuries as they jumped from shuttle train at Baluchara area near Cantonment Railway Station of the city on Monday. The injured were identified as Sharmin Sultana Riza, third year student of Dramatics department and Arefin Kabyo, a second year student of Management department. The witnesses said that Sharmin and Arefin were going to university sitting at the door of the university-bound train. When train left Cantonment station, Sharmin’s bag was dropped and she jumped from the train to pick it up. At the same time, Arefin jumped to save Sharmin. On information, the university authorities rescued the duo and sent them to CU Medical Centre, where they received primary treatment, said CU Proctor Ali Asgar Chowdhury, adding that the students were out of danger.
