Awamil League (AL) candidate for Dhaka-1 constituency Salman F Rahman has sought votes for his election symbol boat to serve the people of Dohar-Nawabganj area. He also took part in a massive campaign in the area yesterday, on the last day of electioneering for the upcoming national election slated for December 30.

Salman F Rahman, also the vice-chairman of Beximco Group, said he wants to improve the lives of the people of his constituency and urged all to cast their votes for boat symbol to further develop the Dohar-Nawabganj area. The AL candidate began his electoral campaign from Phultola Bazar at 10am and visited the doorsteps of voters, seeking their support and blessings. He also pledged to bring happiness in the lives of the locals of his constituency with all his experience and expertise if he is elected the MP.

During the campaign, Salman F Rahman said, “Dohar is affected by periodic river erosion. Besides, we also have some other problems of road infrastructure in Nawabganj. These will be given attention.”

“We will try to get a project so that people can reach from Dhaka to Dohar-Nawabganj by a direct road”, the AL candidate for Dhaka-1 said.

He also pledged to establish a special economic zone on 1000 acres of lands in Nawabganj and some other projects for the development of the area.

Some local BNP leaders have also extended their supports to Salman F Rahman to make him win in the JS seat. Talking to reporters, they said that there is no alternative to Salman F Rahman in improving the local and national situation.

Masudur Rahman, a local BNP leader and Chairman of Jaikrishnapur union, said, “Salman F Rahman is a great personality and a heavyweight candidate from AL. I believe that he is a man who can change the fate of Dohar-Nawabganj people. If the AL government comes back to power, I believe Salman F Rahman will provide special attention for the people of his constituency.”

He would be able to turn the constituencies into mini cities, added the BNP leader. As part of his election campaign, Salman F Rahman has visited all the key areas of Dohar-Nawabganj, seeking support for ‘boat’ in the upcoming national election.
