Jatiya Party (JP) chairman HM Ershad returned home from Singapore last night after 16 days of medical treatment in Singapore. According to party sources, the JP chief landed at Hazrat Shahjalal Int’l Airport by a Singapore Airline flight at 9:05pm.

“Sir (Ershad) landed at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport from a Singapore Airlines flight at 9:05pm today (Wednesday),” Prof. Delwar Hossain, JP presidium member and the chief of the party’s election monitoring cell, told The Independent yesterday.

JP presidium member SM Faysal Chisti also confirmed this. From the airport, the party chief is likely to go directly to his Baridhara President Park residence, he said.

Faysal, who is also coordinating Ershad’s election campaign for the Dhaka-17 constituency, said the JP chief was now physically sound and expected to start his election campaign from today.
