Eying to make a history winning the title of the Walton Independence Cup at their first appearance in the top level of the domestic soccer Bashundhara Kings will take on Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in the final today.

The match will take place at 4:30pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, BTV World will telecast live the match.

It will also a different type of challenge for the head coach of Russel Saiful Bari Titu when he will meet the Spanish coach Oscar Bruzon of Bashundhara Kings for the fourth times. In their previous three times meeting the Spaniard won twice and drew once.

Bashundhara won their two matches against Russel – first one in a pre-season practice match, second time in the semifinal of the Federation Cup and drew in a goalless in their last meeting in the group phase of ongoing Independence Cup.

However, when the head coaches of both sides talking in the pre-match press conference yesterday, Bashnundhara coach Oscar Bruzon sounded well about to win the match when his counterpart Saiful Bari Titu was not also talking in low volume.

“We had some hard times in the group stage and we survived well to move into the final, it is not ‘All’, qualifying, final is to win, sometimes football is matter of life and death.” said Titu.

“We are ready to win, we need to win, how it will come no matter, whatever happens, after winning the final I will celebrate after the 27th and start thinking about Christmas,” said Oscar Bruzon of Bashundhara replying to a query about missing the Christmas. Titu, the former Bangladesh national team coach also paid some respect to Oscar Bruzon saying, “I know Oscar for long time, he guided the team well, the Spanish likes to play pressing football, Bashundhara is very strong side.”

Whether it would be a chance to take revenge of their two times defeats to Bashundhara, Titu said, “Actually the world ‘revenge’ should come in sports, it’s a matter of contest or hard competition and it will be a tough one tomorrow (Wednesday).”

Replying to another query Titu said, “Never quit the fight until end the fight. So we will have to fight up to last moments. Actually the matter of winning is concentration and the concentration in the final should be in high level.”

Oscar, said all about his boys winning and fighting mentality, “Our team have the winning mentality, they came here (final) for the championship, they go for win.”

Bruzon also mentioned about some of his setback – “Tomorrow I will miss some of my key players, who are in injury but who will come from the side bench, are good enough.”

“Pressure is a pleasure to be in the final, we are working on the right way about making the room of improvement. We hope we will play up to the expectation in the final,” Bruzon, who does not think it a pressure to play in the final.

“Sheikh Russel are not easy opposition. We were in the group of death so we had to face tough teams which helped us to improve. Hopefully we play different brand of football, stick to our plan and celebrate after the final,” Oscar Honored Russel.
