Painting on ‘Raifa’ gets best award in Sri Lanka

A painting depicting the life of Rafida Khan Raifa, who died at Chattogram's Max Hospital allegedly due to medical negligence, has fetched the Best Paining Award at an art exhibition (December 21-December 23) at the JDA Piera Gallery in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Journalist-turned-artist Azizul Kadir created the painting titled ‘Humanity’ based on Rafia’s unfortunate death, which triggered controversy across the country in June this year.

The competition was organised by 'Srang', a Bangladesh-based international art group.
