Pacer trio Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed and Shafiul Islam will not be seen in action in the next three weeks due to their respective injuries.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sent them to India with Bangladesh-A team tour as a part of preparation for the home Test series against Australia. Unfortunately, Cricket Australia postponed the series on Thursday on security concerns.
The trio fell to injury during the 17-day recent tour. Of them, Rubel and Shafiul sustained injuries because of their muscle pull. Taskin Ahmed fell to side strain injury. Of them, Taskin’s injury was serious. So, the board brought back them in the country and sent replacement player.
Rubel yesterday came to Mirpur to meet with Dr.Debasish Roy, chief physician of BCB, where he told about his injury status.
“I came here to know the current status of my injury,” said Rubel Hossain.
After examining Rubel’s injury, Debasish Roy said that they have given three weeks rest for Rubel Hossain like Shafiul Islam.
“Both Rubel and Shafiul fell to muscle pull injuries. And so, we have given them three weeks rest so that they don’t fall into re-injury,” said Debasish Roy.
