RAJSHAHI: A man was sentenced to suffer six months behind the bars for his involved in trafficking and trading different kinds of drugs and narcotics in Bagmara upazila yesterday, reports BSS. On a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid in Shikdary area under the upazila and arrested Shukur Ali, 55, an active member of drug trading syndicate of the area, around 5.30 pm. Subsequently, the police team produced him before a mobile court, said Motiar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bagmara police station. After examining the circumstantial evidences and police reports, Executive Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tariqul Islam found him guilty and handed down the verdict. OC Motiar Rahman told local journalists that Shukur Ali was a notorious drug trader and an element of creating and deteriorating of law and order situation. He was also wanted in various criminal cases. "We are trying to detain his cohorts," he added.
