A mobile court seized 1200 meters of fishing nets and three kilogram of hilsha fish from different areas in Padma River under Charghat upazila yesterday afternoon, reports BSS. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdus Samad accompanied by a BGB team conducted a combing operation and seized the huge net and fishes. However, none could be arrested in this connection as the fishermen fled away leaving behind the net. UNO Abdus Samad told journalists that the fishermen were catching immature hilsha fishes violating the government ban.  All the law-violators will be brought to book as soon as possible, he added. Meanwhile, the seized nets were destroyed instantly.
