On the occasion of the birth centenary of Swedish director, writer, and producer Ingmar Bergman, Chalachitram Film Society, in association with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA, is going to hold a three-day programme at the National Art Plaza of BSA in Segun Bagicha of the capital.

The programme will begin today at 6pm with a discussion event titled ‘Ingmar Bergman: Ostittobadi Chetonar Chalachitrakar’. Eminent film and art critic Moinuddin Khaled will attend the event as main discussant, while film researcher Mahmudul Hossain and Zakir Hossain Raju will also speak at the discussion.

After the discussion, a 1957 Swedish historical fantasy film ‘The Seventh Seal’, written and directed by Ingmar Bergman, will be screened.

On the second day, tomorrow, Ingmar Bergman-directed two films ‘Wild Strawberries’ and ‘Winter Light’ will be screened at 4pm and 6pm respectively, while a 1963 Swedish drama film ‘The Silence’ written and directed by Ingmar Bergman and ‘Persona’ a 1966 Swedish psychological drama film, written and directed by Ingmar Bergman will be screened on the closing day on Tuesday at the same time in the same venue.
