The women footballers are coming under monthly salary when the Dhaka Bank came forward to sign a six-year agreement with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) to support the women’s football.
The agreement with the bank will come into effect from January 2019 when the players will also be paid salary from the fist month of 2019.
Dhaka Bank came forward to support the BFF for the development of the women’s football when they impressed with the supremacy of the national women’s team in the South Asian region, this was stated by chairman of the Dhaka Bank Reshadur Rahman in a press conference.
A total of 45 women will get salary in different categories.
“Dhaka Bank feels proud to become partner of national girls team who are earning name and fame of the country, specially their dominance in the region deserve some honors,” said the chairman of the bank.
Kazi Mohmmed Salahuddin said that besides the monthly salary and fooding from the sponsorship money, women footballers will be provided their jerseys and education facilities.
Replying to a query about the women’s football league, Salahuddin said that they were trying desperately to organise the league and will also try to convince the clubs and the districts.
ATM Hayatuzzaman Khan, former chairman of the Dhaka Bank, Altaf Hossain Sarker director and Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director of the Dhaka Bank, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, chairman of the women’s wing of the BFF and were also present in the press conference.
