Alliance Française de Dhaka is organising a musical programme titled ‘An Evening with Ghazal’ with Ghazal singer Manzurul Islam Khan today at the premises of Alliance Française in Dhanmondi of the capital.
Classical singer Manzurul Islam Khan began his musical odyssey at the Chhayanat Sangeet Vidyatan.  He received talim from some of the most revered doyens of music: Ustad Azad Rahman, Ustad Sanjib Dey, Ustad Aminul Haque, Ustad Amjad Rahman, Ustad Usman Khan, Ustad Sanjoy Chakrabarty.
He was also a student of the Ghazal King – Jagjit Singh, albeit for a short time. Khan intends to continue singing as long as he can and contribute to the artistry of Bangla ghazals bringing in a variation in its gaayaki or rendition altogether.
