SUST team clinches ICPC 2018 title

A team of Shahjalal University of Science of Technology (SUST) titled 'SUST Descifrador' emerged as Dhaka Zone Champion of International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) 2018. 'Blood Hound' from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and `Epinephrine' of Dhaka University (DU) stood 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively. The international-grade programing competition of the Asia Zone was hosted by Daffodil International University (DIU) at their permanent campus in Ashulia on Saturday. The programme was supported by ICT division of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Ministry and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in association of ADN Edu services, SSL Wireless, Bangladesh Computer and Internet Society and ICPC Bangladesh chapter as co-sponsors. The programme continued from 11 am to 4 pm with segments including technical talk, CSIS, fun events, award session and cultural performances. University Grants Commission Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan inaugurated the event where DIU VC Dr S M Mahbubul Haq Mazumder and National Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, among others, were present.
Registration for home economics admission test till tomorrow

The time schedule for the online registration for admission tests in the first year honours courses for the academic session of 2018-2019 of Home Economics unit of Dhaka University (DU) will end tomorrow. Students who aspire to get admitted into the Home Economics College have to go through the online registration process which will continue till November 13, said a DU press release yesterday. The one-hour long admission test will be held at 10:00 am on December 7 (Friday), 2018. Admission seekers can download their admit cards from November 29 to December 7 (9:00 am). The last date to pay the registration fee is November 15. The result will be published on December 13.
JUST suspends 3 students for rules violation

The authorities of Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) on Saturday suspended three students for two years for violating the university discipline. The expelled students are Golam Rabbani, a masters student of Nutrition and Food Technology (NFT), Antar Dey Shuvo, a first year student of Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) and Isme Azam Shuvo, a second year student of Fisheries and Marine Bio Science Department. The Regent Board of the university took the decision following recommendations of the discipline committee.
BOU gets new director for PR

Public Relations expert in the field of higher education sector of the country Abul Kasem Shikder joined as the first permanent director of Information and Public Relations Division of Bangladesh Open University (BOU) on Thursday. Prior to that he was director in-charge in the same division, says a press release. He has long twenty years carrier in Public Relations in this university. Shikder also served as Director Student Support Services Division of the university. Earlier, he was a faculty member of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan and Rajuk Uttara Model School and College. He also hold the responsibility of member secretary of Inter University Sports Board of Bangladesh and Member Board of Councils, National Sports Council, Dhaka.
