Mominul eyes 400-450 in
Bangladesh first innings

Bangladesh batsman Mominul Haque believed they are in advantageous position despite losing two more wickets at the end of the day.

“If me and Mushfiqur Rahim could bat till the end with 300 runs on the board, I would have said it’s total commanding position for us but what happened wasn’t bad either.” he said.

“I think 400/450 runs would be good to defend in the first innings.”

Mominul wants to keep faith on the batsmen lower down the order and the bowlers, specially the spinners in materialising the hopes.

“Mushfiqur Rahim is still in the crease with Mahmudullah Riyad. There was Ariful Haque also. There is no reason that we won’t be able to score what we are expecting.”

“I have faith on our bowlers. Our spinners have been in good form. I think our bowlers will get the advantage from the pitch.”

Mominul stressed upon the needs to take a sizeable lead in the first innings, considering it would be decide the course of the match.

“Scoring a good runs on the board in the first innings is always imperative. It could decide the fate of the match.”
