Mashrafe collects AL nomination form

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the captain of the One Day Internationals for Bangladesh National Cricket Team, yesterday collected Awami League (AL) nomination form for contesting the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections slated for December 23. He collected the nomination paper for Narail-2 constituency from AL general secretary Obaidul Quader from the party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office.

Earlier, on Saturday Mashrafe went to Ganabhaban around 11:30am to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. AL joint general secretaries Dipu Moni, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, organizing secretary of the central committee Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, cultural affairs secretary Asim

Kumar Ukil were also present during his nomination paper collection.

Another national team cricketer Shakib Al Hasan was supposed to collect nomination form with Mashrafe yesterday. But the premier suggested him to pay attention to sports, AL insiders said.

Cricketer Mashrafe bin Mortaza had already engaged him in different social welfare activities. In last year, he founded a service oriented organization titled ‘Narail Express Foundation.’     

Bangladesh Workers Party member Sheikh Hafizur Rahman was elected from Narail-2 constituency in the last 10th parliamentary elections.
