Shaoli Rai, Amit Bhoumik, Sahadat Nipu perform at Nat’l Museum today

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) has orgnised a programme ‘India – Bangladesh friendship through poems and melodies’ by Shaoli Rai and Amit Bhoumik from India and Dr Sahadat Hossain Nipu from Bangladesh today at the Kabi Sufia Kamal auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbag in the capital.

Shaoli Rai is a renowned reciting artist of Tripura, India. She obtained an MA degree from Jadavpur University in Philosophy. After completing another MA in Library Science, she has joined as a Librarian in Agartala Government Medical College, India. She has attended several programs both in India and Bangladesh as a recitation artist. To her credit, she has many albums of songs and recitation. She is one of the acclaimed Bharatnatyam dancers and singers of Tagore’s Songs. She has got a number of awards for her contribution in Performing Arts.

 Dr Sahadat Hossain Nipu is a noted artist, producer, director, researcher, writer and young cultural personality of Bangladesh. He has been working in the field of culture for more than three decades. He has 25 CDs of recitation to his credit, including 15 CDs on liberation war of Bangladesh and father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Besides, he has 7 research books, 12 poetry and rhyme collections. Dr Nipu, a successful anchor of BTV programs named ‘Manchakatha’ and ‘Sangskrity Mancha’, is currently anchoring a regular monthly show ‘Kabitar Digdiganta’ in the same channel. He is also the director and anchor of a recitation based programme ‘Kabitar Kathakata’ in Bangladesh Betar.  

 Amit Bhoumik is a renowned journalist and cultural organizer of Tripura, India. He is Secretary General of Tripura Bangla Shahitya Sangshad and Secretary of Bishwa Banga Sahitya o Sangskrity Sammelan of Tripura Branch. He has edited a number of Research Books and Commemorative Volumes. He has been awarded several times both in India and Bangladesh for his contributions in culture and literature such as: Ramen Ghosh Memorial Award, Michael Madhusudan International Memorial Award, Bangabandhu Memorial Award.  He is the writer and director of many video albums, etc.
