A low pressure area may develop over west-central Bay of Bengal either on Sunday or Monday. A meteorologist told The Independent yesterday (Friday) that when the low pressure develops, it may increase day temperatures a bit, spinning clouds with the generation of moisture from the Bay. This may cause some rain more or less across the country. The rain may start in the next two days, followed by five days of wet weather -- more in the southern coastal region and less in the north-western region, said a meteorologist at the weather office. After the rain, day and night temperatures are expected to fall.
In Tetulia, the lowest temperature of 15.8 degrees Celsius and the maximum of 31.7C was recorded by the met office yesterday. The country’s maximum of 33.2C was recorded in Madaripur. Dhaka recorded its maximum of 32.2C and minimum of 20.8C.The sky over the capital remained mainly cloudy, with the sun playing cat and mouse with the clouds.
