Development fair begins in cities today

RAJSHAHI: A three-day 'Development Fair- 2015' will be held  today for the first time in the city aims at highlighting the present government's success relating to the economic and social development. The fair organised by District Administration will be held at the green plaza of Rajshahi City Corporation where more than 36 government and associate development organisations will showcase their development achievements in separate stalls. Before the inaugural session, a colourful rally will be held from Rajshahi College premises and that will end at the fair venue after parading some thoroughfares. These were stated in a press briefing held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner here yesterday.
Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury addressed the briefing as focal person. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Fazley Rabbi and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ataul Ghani supplemented him.
Besides the fair, a number of seminars will be held highlighting the achievements of MDG and other development fields. In addition to three reality shows, nine selected educational institutions will present documentary films on improvements. The fair will stage cultural functions based on the Great War of Liberation and present government's successes. Apart from, the fair has also provision of giving idea on SDC.
Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, and Akhtar Jahan, MP, are likely to attend the inaugural session as chief and special guests respectively.
The fair also will be kicked-off in Rangpur city today with a view to highlighting tremendous socioeconomic successes achieved by the present government in every sector in recent years. The district administration has organised the September 28 to 30 fair on the Town Hall premises to focus measures taken by the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in speeding up socioeconomic development.
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga will inaugurate the fair after leading a colourful rally from the Deputy Commissioner's Office to the fair venue as the chief guest.
The state minister will also address a post-rally discussion at the same venue as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Md. Rahat Anwar in the chair. Rangpur City Mayor Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu, acting president of district Awami League (AL) Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, city AL President Shafiur Rahman Shafi and its General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal will address the discussion as the special guests. The fair also kicks off in Chittagong city today.
Chittagong district administration is organising the fair in front of Chittagong M A Aziz Stadium Gymnasium hall. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chittagong Mezbah Uddin disclosed this at a press conference held at the conference room of Chittagong district sports association yesterday noon.
