Five people including a member of police were injured in a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over forming a committee at Chattogram College yesterday, reports UNB. Two groups of BCL men chased one another and one of the police officers on duty was injured in the clash, said Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station.
A team of additional police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. But no one was held in this connection, said OC.
Earlier on September 17, the city unit BCL announced a committee of Chattogram College BCL making Mahmudul Karim and Subhash Mallik as the president and general secretary of the committee.
After forming the committee, several clashes ensued between the two factions.
Earlier, central BCL president and secretary directed them to solve the issues. But within seven days of their returning, the two groups got involved in another clash.
