As part of the central programme Rajshahi city unit Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders and activists organised a protest meeting at Bhuban Mohan Park in the city yesterday morning.
Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, president of Rajshahi city unit BNP, presided over the meeting while Mizanur Rahman Minu, advisor to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia, was present as the main speaker.
BNP leaders demanded immediate release of Khaleda Zia and withdrawal of all cases filed against Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.
They also demanded formation of a non-partisan neutral administration to hold an inclusive election, dissolving of parliament and cabinet before announcement of election schedule, deployment of the army during the polls and reconstitution of the Election Commission.
