Pass rate would go higher if there was no hartal, blockade: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina o Saturday said the pass rate in SCC and its equivalent exams would go up if there was no hartals and blockade during the examinations.
The premier made the statement after Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over a copy of the results to her.
A total of 87.04% of students have passed in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations. Some 111,901 examinees have got GPA-5.

Last year, the pass rate was 91.34% and 142, 276 examinees got GPA-5.
"Students had to face difficulties because of hartals during their examinations. If hartals had not been enforced, the pass rate would have increased." PM said.
