Senior officials of Bangladesh Bank (BB) have said the school banking system is generating wide interest among students in creating savings habit to ultimately help them ensuring financial security in future, reports BSS.
“School banking system is one of the vital initiatives taken under the BB’s financial inclusion programme and students can open bank accounts at Tk 10 to make financial transactions,” said executive director of BB’s Rangpur Branch Zoarder Ismail Hossain while addressing a conference here on Saturday as chief guest.
Earlier, Hossain inaugurated the school banking conference organised by One Bank Limited through releasing balloons on Zila Parishad Community Centre ground.
Before the conference, a colourful rally was brought out on the city streets. Hundreds of school students and officials of all commercial banks of the city participated in the rally.
With senior assistant vice-president of Rangpur branch of One Bank Limited Shudhir Das in the chair, general manager of BB’s Rangpur branch Zulqarnine attended the event as special guest.
