Saif lift Bodousa Int’l Football title in Assam

Saif  Sporting Club Limited, a Bangladesh Premier League team, defeated Jamshedpur FC of India by 2-0  in the final of 10th Bodousa International Invitation Cup in Tinsuka, Assam yesterday.

The Bangladesh club slammed home one goal in each half.  Russian playmaker Dennis opened the account in 21st minute and Korean striker Seung IL Park took sealed the match converting the second goal from a spot-kick in 87th  minute to win the glorious trophy, according to an information gathered in Dhaka.

It’s really  a prestigious  victory  for Saif Sporting against   international league  teams. Apart from Saif Sporting and a club of Nepal all other teams were from India. A total of 23 teams took part in the tournament.

 Earlier Saif eliminated Gokulam Kerala FC by 1-0 in the semifinal. Deiner Cordoba brought the all important goal for Saif Sporting in 11th minute. On the other hand Jamshedpur inflicted  a solitary goal defeat on Chyasal Youth Club of Nepal in the other semifinal.

Saif Sporting had a convincing  4-0 win over  Duliajan  Club  of Assam in the quarterfinal. PARK netted twice, while, Yeasin and Cordoba banged one goal each for Saif Sporting.

Chittagong based Saif Sporting Club have already formed a formidable team this season to give championship fight Bangladesh Premier League. They made a magnificent debut in top tier finishing within top five last season.
