Chief  Whip seeks Brazilian investment

Jatiya Sangsad Chief Whip ASM Feroz yesterday urged Brazilian businessmen to invest in Bangladesh for boosting development process of the two countries as he joined a discussion on trade and investment ties between the two countries, reports BSS.

“The chief whip urged the Brazilian entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh,” a

parliamentary secretariat press release quoted him as saying at the discussion

organized by the Global Economist Forum (GEF)Bangladesh at BGMEA Bhaban in the city.

Firoz appreciated US$300 million Brazilian assistance for disaster management in Bangladesh saying it was a landmark event for mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and Brazil.

“We want to strengthen mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and Brazil through exchanging knowledge-sharing on different fields of development,” he said.

GEF’s Bangladesh chapter officials said they organized the discussion on “Trade and investment between Bangladesh and Brazil” as part of their year-long initiative to promote Bangladesh’s business and trade ties with Latin American countries.

Brazilian Ambassador Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Jonior and GEF’s Central President Dr Enayet Karim, among others, addressed the discussion with GEF Bangladesh President Dr Mohammad Haidar Ali Mian in the chair.
