Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury, secretary general of the Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, was released from the Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj yesterday afternoon. Mahbubur Rahman, jailer of the prison, confirmed the release of Mozammel in the evening after getting the bail papers. Eariler in the day, a Dhaka court dismissed a police petition to show Mozammel Hoque arrested in a case under the Explosive Substances Act.

The investigationg officer of the case, sub-inspector (SI) Kazi Raihanur Rahman, had brought Mozammel Hoque to court for a hearing on the petition to keep him in police custody. But Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Muhammad Mazharul Islam dismissed the petition.
