A two -day long training session was held at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) aimed at disseminating information about early intervention and home management for the parents with autism. The programme was arranged by Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA). Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan, vice-chancellor of BSMMU inaugurated the programme. Among others present at the session were Dr Shahidullah Sikder, Pro vce -chancellor and Habibur Rahman Dulal, proctor of BSMMU. Project Director of IPNA Shaheen Akhter was also present at the occasion, along with eminent Paediatric Neurologist Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman.  Professor Dr Kamrul Hassan started proceedings by expressing his gratitude towards Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her daughter, renowned school psychologist and autism expert Saima Wazed Hussain for their invaluable contribution to the field of autism management in Bangladesh. Through the efforts of all stakeholders, people in Bangladesh treat autistic people with greater compassion and respect. He promised to stand by the multitude of parents in our country, who are working relentlessly to cater the needs of their autistic children.
