ACC drive at Cumilla civil surgeon office

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday conducted a drive at Cumilla civil surgeon office over receipt the allegations of taking Tk 8,000-9000 as bribe from people for giving health certificates to go abroad, reports BSS.

Talking about the drive, ACC’s Director General (admin) Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “The drive was conducted on specific allegations and aimed at stopping corruption in distributing health certificates among the people, who wanted to go abroad.”

A two-member team of the ACC conducted the drive and inquired about allegations received by its hotline 106 and came to know that the people who wanted to go abroad have to pay bribe for getting health certificates.

They have also been compelled to conduct some medical tests at private hospitals instead of public hospitals and have become victim of corruption and irregularities.
