A corruption-free society can be built through bringing up of the young students with honesty, good moral character, patriotism and inspiring them in line with true spirit of the War of Liberation, reports BSS from Rangpur.
Educating school students on values of honesty can create anti-corruption sentiment in them for changing behavior to build a corruption free nation, accelerate uplift and make the independence meaningful for every citizen.
The views were expressed at an anti-corruption coordination meeting organised by the Integrity Unit of Shahbazpur High School at its auditorium under Sadar upazila in the district on Thursday noon.
Member of the Advisory Council of the Integrity Unit of the school and its Assistant Teacher Mohammad Fakhrul Islam, President of the Integrity Unit Mosley rabbi, its General Secretary Sumaiya Akhter and Member Abir-uz-Zaman spoke.
District Manager of JRCP Project Ershad Md Rasel discussed on the anti-corruption activities conducted last year and draft annual action plan on anti-corruption activities to be conducted by the Integrity Unit in the institution this year. The speakers stressed for building good moral character and capability of the students in showing respect to their parents and senior citizens in motivating them against corruption and taking part in extracurricular and social welfare activities.
The chief guest called for arranging school level anti-corruption programmes, meetings and debate and essay competitions for building anti-corruption sentiment among the students to strengthen activities of the Integrity Unit to achieve the goals.
